Why Homeowners Invest in Outdoor Lighting
It’s more than light—it’s transformation
All Lighthouse projects are bookended with design, from the initial meeting to the final night aiming and walk-thru. We begin the outdoor lighting design phase by listening to your ideas and dreams for your outdoor spaces. Your Lighthouse designer will discuss and identify the various unique opportunities and vantage points that exist on your property that speak directly to your goals. The design will often go through several revisions, punctuated by discussions about value engineering and a working timeline to make sure your budget and schedule are honored.

What Others Have to Say
Driveway lighting has to do more than look good, especially on mountain properties in Colorado.
On this Evergreen project, our team is installing Nightscaping Estate Series bollards designed for durability, visibility, and long-term performance in tougher outdoor conditions.
These bollards are set deep in concrete, making them a strong option for driveways where snow, snow banks, and mountain weather need to be considered. The rust finish and carved steel design also create a unique shadow pattern across the driveway after dark.
It is a great example of how the right fixture can add both function and character to a property.
At Lighthouse Outdoor Lighting of Denver, we design outdoor lighting systems around the property, the environment, and how each space needs to perform over time.

Some outdoor lighting details are about beauty, and others are about making the system work better long term.
For this Crestmoor Park project, in-ground well lights were used to uplight a mature tree that was preserved when the home was built. These fixtures sit flush with the ground, allowing the light to carry upward while keeping the area clean and practical for regular lawn maintenance.
The design also included smart controls for the garage sconces, side yard lighting, and recessed front entry light so the home’s exterior lighting and landscape lighting turn on together. That kind of planning helps the whole property feel more intentional after dark.
At Lighthouse Outdoor Lighting of Denver, every design is built around the property, the architecture, and the way the system needs to perform over time.

One of the best parts of custom outdoor lighting is the reveal. On this project, the homeowners did not fully know what to expect when the design process started. When the system was turned on for the first time, the reaction said it all; the finished result looked even better than they imagined.
That is what thoughtful outdoor lighting should do. It should bring the property to life after dark in a way that feels balanced, polished, and worth the investment. At Lighthouse Outdoor Lighting of Denver, every design is built around the home, the landscape, and the experience we want to create once the sun goes down.

🎥 A behind-the-scenes look at a new project we’re working on in Castle Rock.
This property has a stunning landscape with a water feature, walkways, bridges, large trees, boulders, and a tea house. Before the finished lighting reveal, our team walks the site to plan how each area should be illuminated and how the full space should feel after dark.
For this project, the design will include tree lighting, path lighting, bridge lighting, and water feature lighting to highlight the natural movement, texture, and structure throughout the landscape.
A great outdoor lighting system starts before installation. It starts with understanding the property, the views, and how people will move through the space once the sun goes down.

Outdoor lighting should make a property look beautiful, but it should also make the space easier and safer to use after dark. For this project, the stairs were a priority for the homeowner. The grade, slopes, and layout made nighttime visibility important, especially for guests walking through the property to enjoy the view.
By adding carefully placed lighting, the stairs became safer and more walkable while also highlighting the structure and surrounding features. That is the difference custom lighting can make. It is not just about brightness, it is about placing light where it improves the experience of the property.
At Lighthouse Outdoor Lighting of Denver, every design is built around the property, the architecture, and how the space needs to function after sunset.

Smart outdoor lighting is about solving the property in front of you, not forcing the same layout onto every home. For this Crestmoor Park project in Denver, the design focused mostly on the front yard, using recessed lighting over the garage, accent lighting on the chimney, custom linear lighting over the address sign, and downlighting to brighten the pathway.
Because the lot sits closer to the street and does not have a defined bed edge, traditional path lights were not the right fit. Instead, downlights were used to improve visibility without placing fixtures where they could be damaged by landscaping work.
That is where custom design makes the difference, every fixture has a purpose.

A custom lighting design should support both the beauty and function of a property after dark.
For this project, the homeowner had a small trail wrapping around the lower part of the property, so nighttime visibility was an important part of the design. Uplit trees, downlights, stair lighting, and carefully placed fixtures help define the trail, highlight key areas, and make the space easier to move through at night.
The result is a lighting system that feels natural to the property while adding safety, depth, and a more finished nighttime experience.
At Lighthouse Outdoor Lighting of Denver, every design is built around how the property is actually used after sunset.

FAQs ABOUT OUTDOOR LIGHTING DENVER
Whether you’re a business wanting to wow customers and guests or a homeowner looking to improve your curb appeal, here are some important questions and answers to consider
What Is the Lifespan of Landscape Lighting?
Lighthouse Outdoor Lighting only uses top grade high CRI LED’s in their fixtures. The typical lifespan of our LED’s is 4+ years. With proper maintenance our fixtures are meant to last the lifetime of the home. However as with anything that is exposed to the elements, regular maintenance should be considered essential.
Can You Overdo Landscape Lighting?
Yes, it’s definitely possible to overdo lighting in your outdoor space. Over-illumination can diminish the effect of your lighting efforts. It can also reduce the outdoor ambience and aesthetic benefits that this type of lighting can provide. Fortunately, our expert team can ensure your garden is lit up in the best possible way using our lighting design services.
What Is the Average Cost to Install Landscape Lighting?
The cost of Denver lighting installation depends on the size of your project. Outdoor lighting is generally more expensive than standard indoor lighting due to the materials used during the installation process. Installers need to use higher-grade materials and bulbs to ensure the durability and longevity of your installation.
What Are the Most Effective Lighting Systems for Outdoor Lighting?
LED bulbs are generally the most effective outdoor lighting system. They are more energy-efficient and durable than traditional halogen bulbs, making them the ideal choice for backyard lighting.
What Is the Guarantee on Outdoor Lighting in Denver, Co?
Lighthouse uses only top-tier brass and steel fixtures engineered to withstand the harsh conditions of the Colorado Front Range climate. Our Certified Low Voltage Technicians follow industry best practices on every installation. All wiring is properly protected and buried at least 6 inches deep to prevent damage from common lawn equipment such as aerators.
Even with these rigorous standards, we stand behind our work with comprehensive warranties. Our brass fixtures carry a lifetime warranty, our LEDs are covered for a minimum of five years, and our labor is warranted for the first year.
After the first year, clients can enroll in our annual maintenance program, which extends LED and labor coverage indefinitely. It’s a long-term plan designed to provide years of reliable, worry-free operation.
What Is Landscape Lighting Used for?
Landscape lighting has several uses and benefits, from lighting up paths to showcasing the beauty of your space. Outdoor lighting can also improve your property value and the safety of your space, as well positioned lights in your yard can serve as a great crime deterrent.
