Why Homeowners Invest in Outdoor Lighting
It’s more than light—it’s transformation
All Lighthouse projects are bookended with design, from the initial meeting to the final night aiming and walk-thru. We begin the outdoor lighting design phase by listening to your ideas and dreams for your outdoor spaces. Your Lighthouse designer will discuss and identify the various unique opportunities and vantage points that exist on your property that speak directly to your goals. The design will often go through several revisions, punctuated by discussions about value engineering and a working timeline to make sure your budget and schedule are honored.

What Others Have to Say
The lights are on, and this one turned out stunning. ✨
We`re back to reveal our architectural lighting on this beautiful home and its lone tree. We installed eight recessed lights across the front architecture, plus two uplights to bring it all together. The recessed lights create a soft, elegant downlighting effect that makes the whole property glow after dark.
Our homeowners were over the top — thrilled with how it turned out. And as always, none of this happens without our incredible team and the hard work they put in every single day. We`re endlessly grateful for them.
Hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed lighting this one up. 💡

Dark sky compliant does not mean the tree disappears. On this Evergreen project, three fixtures were used on one tree, but none of them push past the canopy. Each lamp is dimmable, each beam is aimed through the core of the tree, and the final effect stays contained where it belongs.
From across the valley, you are not supposed to notice spill. You are supposed to notice a tree that glows cleanly, smoothly, and naturally within itself. That is the difference between just lighting a tree and lighting it with control.

Tech Tip Wednesday 💡
Flat soffits (like this Lone Tree home’s 2nd level) look SO much better with down lighting vs. standard up lights off the gutter.
But not all soffit lights are equal — most homes get cheap, no-baffle LED lights from Amazon that give a harsh, commercial look. 😬
We use Nightscaping’s 2” recessed LED lights with a baffle + hex louvers for a softer, more refined glow. ✨
Final result drops tomorrow — stay tuned! 🏡

A complicated house, but a seamless result. This Larkspur project came with a lot of concrete and complexity, but the final lighting came together beautifully. From the beam lighting on the house to the entrance, driveway, and glowing spruce trees, every part of the property feels more intentional after dark.

Some of the best features on a property were already there. They just needed the right light.
At our award-winning Sculpture House project, one of those features was this massive natural rock element. With the right lighting, it becomes part of the nighttime experience instead of disappearing into the dark.
That is one of the things we love about custom outdoor lighting. It helps reveal the character that is already built into the landscape. Do you have a standout feature on your property that disappears after dark?

A quiet look at how the right lighting can change a home after dark. This Denver project uses warm architectural lighting to bring out the stonework, rooflines, entry, and surrounding landscape without taking away from the home itself.
No heavy effects. No over-lighting. Just a finished nighttime look that feels welcoming, balanced, and built around the property. Would you want this kind of lighting on your home?

Small lighting choices can change the whole feel of a home at night.
On this Crestmoor project, the team had to decide where a well light made sense and where recessed lighting would create a cleaner look with less glare.
The goal was to keep the architecture balanced, add useful light around the home, and avoid making the fixtures feel distracting. This is the kind of detail most people don’t notice at first, but it makes a big difference in the final design.
What do you think of this approach?

FAQs ABOUT OUTDOOR LIGHTING DENVER
Whether you’re a business wanting to wow customers and guests or a homeowner looking to improve your curb appeal, here are some important questions and answers to consider
What Is the Lifespan of Landscape Lighting?
Lighthouse Outdoor Lighting only uses top grade high CRI LED’s in their fixtures. The typical lifespan of our LED’s is 4+ years. With proper maintenance our fixtures are meant to last the lifetime of the home. However as with anything that is exposed to the elements, regular maintenance should be considered essential.
Can You Overdo Landscape Lighting?
Yes, it’s definitely possible to overdo lighting in your outdoor space. Over-illumination can diminish the effect of your lighting efforts. It can also reduce the outdoor ambience and aesthetic benefits that this type of lighting can provide. Fortunately, our expert team can ensure your garden is lit up in the best possible way using our lighting design services.
What Is the Average Cost to Install Landscape Lighting?
The cost of Denver lighting installation depends on the size of your project. Outdoor lighting is generally more expensive than standard indoor lighting due to the materials used during the installation process. Installers need to use higher-grade materials and bulbs to ensure the durability and longevity of your installation.
What Are the Most Effective Lighting Systems for Outdoor Lighting?
LED bulbs are generally the most effective outdoor lighting system. They are more energy-efficient and durable than traditional halogen bulbs, making them the ideal choice for backyard lighting.
What Is the Guarantee on Outdoor Lighting in Denver, Co?
Lighthouse uses only top-tier brass and steel fixtures engineered to withstand the harsh conditions of the Colorado Front Range climate. Our Certified Low Voltage Technicians follow industry best practices on every installation. All wiring is properly protected and buried at least 6 inches deep to prevent damage from common lawn equipment such as aerators.
Even with these rigorous standards, we stand behind our work with comprehensive warranties. Our brass fixtures carry a lifetime warranty, our LEDs are covered for a minimum of five years, and our labor is warranted for the first year.
After the first year, clients can enroll in our annual maintenance program, which extends LED and labor coverage indefinitely. It’s a long-term plan designed to provide years of reliable, worry-free operation.
What Is Landscape Lighting Used for?
Landscape lighting has several uses and benefits, from lighting up paths to showcasing the beauty of your space. Outdoor lighting can also improve your property value and the safety of your space, as well positioned lights in your yard can serve as a great crime deterrent.
